...sitting in a quiet corner checking his messages and having a smoke.
He was totally oblivious to me taking his picture.

Day 219 is a man...
Day 218...is a macro of...
a fly - possibly Mesembrina meridiana.
Taken with my 100mm 2.8L which is a lens I absolutely love.
Day 117 is an illuminated letter...
...in an early 15th Century bible which is on display in a glass case at Malmesbury Abbey.
Isn't the work stunning. You can't imagine anybody being able to do it now.
Day 214...Autumn is well and truly here...
This is leave of a Stags Horn Sumach which turns from green to glorious shades of red, yellow and orange for a few fleeting days before dropping it's leaves.
It's always special when you see it.
Day 213...I wanted some images of...
...converging verticals.
This was of the Town Hall in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.
Day 211...we went for a trip on a steam train...
...for Halloween.
We had great fun and I took lots and lots of pictures of people in their costumes.
This is one of the train drivers while they wait at the end of the line.
Day 210...finds us in the shop trying on...
...halloween masks.
My daughter desperately wanted this one!!
Day 209 was another lovely day so...
...I went to Stourhead to take pictures. This is a view from the Grotto back across the lake.
Day 208...my sister came to stay...
...so we went to Westonbirt for the day.
This is my sister with my nephew, totally oblivious of me taking a picture of them.
Day 207...we were on our way home when...
...it started raining and a huge double rainbow appeared.
As soon as I found somewhere to stop I got out and took some pictures.
Even at 10mm the lens wasn't wide enough to get all of both rainbows in!!

Day 205 in Westonbirt again...
I have been trying to get a good image of nicely backlit yew berries for a while.
In this image I think that I achieved it.

The Old Bell Hotel, Malmesbury.
Reputed to be the oldest purpose built hotel in England built in 1220.

Day 192.
Swimming...
A composite I made from several images taken at the Bristol Aquarium on Day 192.
Day 190.
War is ugly........love lives on.
Left by family for one of the soldiers brought back in a coffin from Afghanistan.
Day 178.
We visited Tatton Park on a dull rainy day, but it gave nice saturated greens.
I was sheltering my camera under an umbrella a lot of the time as I took the pictures!!
Day 177.
Lyme Park, looking across the Reflection Lake.
The Orangery is on the right of the main hall.
Day 175.
I visited Lyme Park a few times during my stay in Cheshire.
This is the orangery and the upper floor of Lyme Hall on the left.
Day 174.
We went on a day trip along the Peak Forest Canal. On our return this boat was moored nearby and I loved the colours of the sunlight through the leaves and the geraniums in the pots.
Day 171.
A friend complained that my images were all too beautiful.
The next couple of day's images are therefore a bit more grungy...especially for Miranda. :-D
